As you may have heard, the Bureau of Professional Licensing (BPL) is in the midst of transitioning from an old outdated legacy system, L2K, to a new online system created by Accela. This new system will be called the Michigan Professional Licensing User System (MiPLUS).
The first program to migrate from the old system to MiPLUS will be Nursing. All the licensing and regulatory files for just over 188,000 licensed nurses in the state of Michigan will be migrated to MiPLUS beginning today and continue until the go-live date which is scheduled to be on Monday, July 17, 2017.
- The licensing team responsible for maintaining and processing the license applications for Nursing will have to manually process applications.
- This will cause a delay in processing all applications received during this period. We ask for your patience as it may take closer to 7-10 business days to process.
- Applicants who have submitted all the necessary information and qualify to take the exam, the team will work swiftly to approve so the applicant can be allowed to take the exam.
- Verification of licenses will also be handled and processed manually as they verify and the license site for Nursing will also be down during this period. Please note all other health professions on the verify license site will be searchable. If you need to verify if a license for a Nurse is active and valid, please contact the Licensing Support Team at 517-373-8068 or email BPLHelp@michigan.gov.
